Poetry in Palliative Care

dusk, dimness, dawn, rebirth
warm, glowing, light
glinting, glaring, streaming, earth
declining, shadowing, night 

I am reading lately about reflection and 'narrative medicine', learning, amongst other things, that writing a poem can be a tool for self-discovery and healing.  The author of this book, David Richo, draws on Buddhist thought and Jungian perspectives to coach the reader toward greater self-understanding.
